Together, they have advised on and closed debt and equity transactions exceeding USD 22 billion in value, including M&A advisories, extension of bank facilities, private placements of equity and debt, and bond issuances.
Bernard has over 20 years' experience in the financial industry, the first eleven of which were spent in Germany with Societe Generale and Paribas, advising multinational clients on corporate, project and structured finance transactions, including cross-border and infrastructure deals. Bernard was also responsible for developing Paribas' corporate and project finance business in the Czech Republic. He joined Lebanon Invest in 1996 as a Senior Manager, heading the Project Finance area and managing numerous high-profile corporate and project finance transactions in the telecommunications, retail, hotel, real estate, health care, banking, insurance and water sectors.
Bernard joined ProFinance as a Managing Partner in 2001, where he has advised on, structured, and executed corporate and project finance deals in the hotel, real estate, retail, telecommunications, manufacturing, and information technology sectors.
He holds a Masters in Economics and Business from Mannheim University in Germany.
Serene has over 15 years' experience in the financial industry, working on numerous debt and equity transactions across a wide range of sectors, both in the United States and in the Middle East.
She spent six years in Citibank-New York's corporate finance area, covering lending and M&A transactions for large and medium sized corporations in the hotel, gaming, rail, air transport, defense, manufacturing, service, and real estate sectors before moving to Beirut with Lebanon Invest in 1996. As a Senior Manager in Lebanon Invest's Corporate & Project Finance areas, she led transactions in the hotel, healthcare, retail, and manufacturing sectors.
Since joining ProFinance, Serene has advised on corporate and project finance deals across a wide range of sectors.
She holds a B.A. with Highest Honors from the State University of Binghamton in New York, an M.A. from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, and a post-graduate concentration in Finance from New York University's Stern School of Business.
